The RAAF Museum at Point Cook includes hangars full of aircraft, covering all phases of aerial combat - from the wires, wood and fabric of WW1 to the supersonic era. An impressive multi-media exhibition depicts the RAAF’s glorious history in a totally captivating way.
Visitors can watch a fully operational RAAF flying unit and see technicians restore and maintain the fleet of airworthy aircraft, including a WWII Mk 23 Mustang.
The latest in multimedia technology and display techniques will take visitors back to the RAAF's beginnings in World War I, through to today's modern and sophisticated fighting force. There are also displays of memorabilia and artefacts.
Display hangars are filled with superbly preserved aircraft, including a fighter jet hangar, jet engines and detailed model aircraft.
The souvenir shop offers badges, clothing books, model kits and more. Refreshments are available from the base canteen. Entrance is free. Special weekday tours are available by arrangement.
