Experience the excitement of a wildlife safari. View and photograph at close quarters magnificent grassland animals from Africa and our own backyard.
The open range zoo is teeming with exotic animals from the savanna of the dark continent, as well as Australian animals - some of them endangered species. You’ll see them all from the comfort of your safari bus.
At Werribee, rhinos range free with giraffe, zebra and antelopes, whilst hippos wallow in the waterhole. Vervet monkeys chatter and cheetah survey their territory on the African Walking Trail.
Facilities include a 50 minute safari tour, walking trails, Savanna Discovery Centre, Meerkat Bistro and Function Centre and Safari Shop.
Other activities include mid-week special interest tours and animal talks, photographic safari, behind the scenes, tour and more. There are also school holiday programs, Rhythm of Africa (extended opening hours throughout January and February) and Zootober.
